With ths latest wave of cold fronts and snow we thought it was time to look at the long term seasonal forecast as predicted at JMA, one of our favourite weather sites. We have posted some screen captures below but what do these tell us? Overall the next month looks like it going to be a cold one with higher than average precipatation which means more of the same, cold fronts bringing snow, hopefully meaning the upper mountian will keep it already building snowbase and will open on time, which will be nice compared to the slower starts from the past few years.
The bottom shows a normal winter ahead so maybe with a great start to the season we may end up with a bigger that usual year, like other La Nina years of the back of a El Nino, but that's another post.
