First Snow on Mt. Yotei Autumn 2014

With first snow recorded on top of Mt. Yotei on the night of September 17th , we hoped to get a photo yesterday to no avail. Well we did get a photo very early and even though we saw the snow the shot was taken in low light and the cloud had moved in so you will need to use you imagination.

All yesterday the cloud covered Mt. Yotei's peak and also this morning.

Will the snow remain once the cloud clears in a good question as the temperatures are expected to rise to a high of 17℃ at Niseko town level today. Meaning with wind chill the temperatures on the peak of Mt. Yotei (1898m) may remain below 0.

The first snowfall this year is 16 days earlier this year, last year official first snowfall was recored on the 4th of October.
