Weather Outlook for October to December 2014
30 Sep, 2014
With the October to December weather outlook looking colder and wetter than usual the chances of some early snowfall is looking promising, Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) websites probability maps can be found here but we have keep a few screenshots below for the records. What this actually means we are unsure but it has been colder this year compared to more recent years so far, so if this is any sign and the forecast is correct we can probably expect the mountain to open in late November as planned, hopefully with the upper mountain being opened up quicker than usual.
With that said and if you are coming to Niseko or have some friends coming to Niseko you should get over to the Kutchannel and make a prediction for the first snow in Hirafu Village and win yourself a French Dinner and drinks for 4 at Le Cochon, "Grandmother's French in the hills of Hokkaido".
The below maps are from http://www.jma.go.jp/en/longfcst/
