Powder Surfing Niseko

Asmo, a snowboard or more correctly a powder surfer is the creation of Wolle Nyvelt and Steve Green. The boards are thinly scupltured plywood and resin about 10mm thick at the most and have a thick sponge pad on top for grip, it was like an old bones brigade skateboard from the ealy eigthies only 160cm long or there abouts with a surfboard foam grip pad running the whole length.

This winter we were lucky enough to make a few turns on one in the Niskeo backcountry when Bode Merril with his in tow popped in for a bit of pre Ultra Natural mushroom bonking.
